Bioinformatics/Computational Biologist Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department of Anesthesiology seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow. An NIH supported infectious disease laboratory seeks a bioinformaticist/computational biologist to perform studies of next-generation sequencing, systems biology, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and big data integration into experimental studies of microbiome, pulmonary disease pathogenesis and respiratory infection. Computationalists with experience in biology or molecular biology/genetics with computational training will be strongly considered. This academic position is expected to provide continued training for those interested in the transition to scientific independence. Manuscript preparation, publication, and scientific interaction with multiple academic groups within the medical center are key components of the position. Interested candidates should send their application materials (CV, cover letter and contact information for three references) to Dr. Kevin Harrod at kharrod@uab.edu
