This is a work study position for students who qualify through financial aid. Join our energetic team to make a difference in the world, and have fun by providing children ages 8 and under with excellent nutrition. Planning breakfast and snack within the guidelines of the Federal Food Program. Serve lunch, document food service, data enter food service on spread sheet, clean kitchen, and do Food Roll Over log sheet.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and document lunch service. Help with compliance issues. Must be able to be in a classroom setting with young children.
They must be able to work with diverse populations and keep classroom clean.
Experience with food service.
Food Handlers Permit
Experience with the food program.
Must be approved for work-study.
Must be a minimum of 16 years old
Must read and write in English
Must Pass a Background check
Must be able to pass a basic physical.
Must be able to bend and lift children.
Must be able to pass at tuberculosis test.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
This is a semester by semester position. Time slots is generally 11 am-3pm. Monday-Friday, although we are willing to work with students on class schedules on a limited basis.
Work Study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work study positions.
